The publication is structured into two parts. The first part focuses on national issues, technologies, and strategies, while the second part addresses crop-based issues and technologies. The first part comprises 13 chapters. The first three chapters address pulses-related national issues, technologies, and strategies, including the NEH region. Chapter IV deals with crop diversification involving pulses, while Chapter V focuses on pulses production under an organic system. Chapter VI discusses legumes as a nutrient supplement, Chapter VII focuses on tillage and crop establishment, Chapter VIII discusses water management in pulses, Chapter IX focuses on integrated nutrient management, Chapter X and XI discuss weed and pest management, respectively, and Chapter XII focuses on post-harvest and value addition. Chapter XIII deals with trade-related policy issues. In the second part, the crop issues, strategies, and technologies are presented. Chapter XIV deals with pigeonpea, while Chapter XV deals with greengram and black gram. Chapters XVI to XIX deal with chickpea, lentil, field pea, and lathyrus, while Chapter XX discusses the issues, technologies, and prospects of Guar. Lastly, Chapter XXI addresses the issues and technologies related to arid legumes, such as mothbean, cowpea, and horsegram, with a special focus on arid areas. It is hoped that the publication will serve as a reference and guide for solving the pulses crisis in India and achieving the targets set for food production in the future.\n\n |
